I am trying to install Snow Leopard Server. We have the Internet Service Provider (ISP) connected to a switch, and the switch has Snow Leopard Server and 5 iMacs connected to it. (ISP -> Switch -> Snow Leopard Server, 5 iMacs)

Does the DNS IP address come from the ISP that is put in the Snow Leopard Server setup?

I havn't run the snow leopard server setup assistant in quite some time but I do play around with the configuration alot.

Basically (if you're setting your server up as dns) you'll put 127.0.0.1 or the machine's IP address into the network preferences.

Then you'll setup your ISPs DNS servers as forwarders.

Then your clients will ping your local server box for DNS. When they query something not in your jurisdiction the server will forward the query to your ISP.
