Have you seen this? www.thisdayinmusic.com
It shows you what was No.1 in the charts on the day you were born.
(Go to Birthday No.1 at the top of the site, it’s free, you don’t have to log in).
My number 1's are
'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US
'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK
Loads of other good music trivia on the site as well.

... or you just happen to like "older" music. I love the 60s, 70s, and 80s. I quite like "my" song ("Baby Come Back"). It's not one of my favorites, but I wouldn't call it a bad song. I think I'll buy it from the iTMS since I don't have it yet. :)
BTW, I happen to like some cheesy songs (and no, I'm not ashamed). For instance, I have fond memories of "Ghostbusters" ("I ain't 'fraid of no ghost!").

off the top of my head, i think your hs graduation could very well be the beach boys/rolling stones or an early motown hit and your 21st could be something by the rolling stones or mid period beatles...oops, bad math...scratch that...i would say your 21st could be something in the disco era

i love that billy ocean song!!! it never works as a pickup line, but the song is just great... in that very cheesy-late-80s kinda way. it's so great that they have to change key on that last verse. classic! ;)
Oh no... I hope it's a purposeful key change!
*remembering when some girl sang the national anthem at a school thing and she changed keys every three words.*
That was the one day I hated being in instrumental... I noticed every key change... a lot of other people didn't.
She started in D major and ended in F Major! From Two sharps to one Flat is no easy feat to do....

You know what, CanadaRAM...I'm wondering why I'm hearing all these remakes of older songs on the radio lately. It seems like remakes are the new "in" thing. If that's the case, the music industry must be running out of ideas...which is almost always a sign that sweeping changes are imminent, not necessarily for the better of the industry involved, but better for us (I hope).

I think I made out rather well.. I like the songs related to my birth, 18th, and 21st birthdays.. (14. December 1968)
Marvin Gaye "Heard It Through The Grapevine"
The Bangles "Walk Like An Egyptian"
and Billy Joel "We Didn't Start The Fire"
I didn't bother to look at the UK charts, because even though I like a lot of British music, it never seems to be the SAME British music the Brits themselves like (ie, it never seems to be popular there)

But what about "All Night Long" (Lionel Ritchie) in the States? Not a good week for music, great week for MacRumors! :D

The Number 1 single was:
The Timelords - "Doctorin' The Tardis"
The Number 1 album was:
Various artist compilation (CBS) - "Nite Flite"
This was June 18, 1988.. I obviously don't remember either, nor do I recall hearing the single or anything from that album.
