External Hard Disk: Can't empty Trash on Mac OS X, works on Windows

Yeah, okay, this is really weird...

I cannot get the Trash to empty on Mac OS X, on the FAT partition of a drive that's partitioned part HFS+, part FAT. Emptying the Recycle Bin works perfectly on Windows, however, if I put stuff in there that is located on this drive.
