Hello,
I'm selling the processor from a Power Mac G4 933 (Quicksilver). This includes the CPU board and heatsink. It's a 7455-generation G4 with a full 2MB of L3 cache.
The board's fully functional, and would make a great upgrade for any Quicksilver as well as a variety of earlier G4 towers - I have a custom 12V adapter to apply voltage to the 4th mounting post - this allows the processor to be installed in older G4 towers (Digital Audio, Gigabit Ethernet, and probably Sawtooth). This has been tested in a Digital Audio model and works without a problem.
Asking price is $150 shipped for the whole package. Payment by Paypal.
Thanks!

hi there...
i hate to ask this of you but i was wondering if you could show me how to 'rig' my 933 to adapt to my DA533. i found a 933 for 30 bucks and have read some places on the internet but nothing too clear and concise...something about getting a lead wire to a 4th post which isn't connected to anything. i took a yellow lwire from an existing lolex connector and i ran it to the 4th hole thinkin it would adhere to this +12V thingy i keep readin about...can you further educate me...or would you be willing to make one of your cutom 'rigs' for me? i would sincerely appreciate any help or leads....thanks....please reply to ed374@mac.com

Hi there,
It's no problem - I'd be glad to help. You need to do the following:
- Cut the yellow (12V) wire on a molex connector
- Strip the end of the wire
- Crimp it into a terminal of some sort (I used a ring-tongue connector)
- Connect the terminal to the 4th post with a small nut and bolt
- Boot up your 933MHz Mac and smile. :)
If you need a picture, just let me know and I'll email you offline.
Good luck,
-Tone

i did almost exactly as you had described yet i get to love. can you email me offline as to your setup.....i can possible point the finger to a bad processor(but it worked before on another machine). i have a concern for this molex connector. i have an extra molex connector with about 8-10" of cable attached to it just floating around inside the case. i took the yellow off the cable so that i have a single wire and i attacted a ring tong 6/32" along with a screw/butterfly nut. sounded simple enough but when i go to boot...i see the powerbutton charge up but then die....did i do anything wrong...can you send pics to me email? thanks

A nice G4/933 with 2MB of L3 cache would be a great treat for your Power Mac, just in time for Tiger!

Tone,
thanks for the help on the intall of my 933....i wish you luck selling yours....to all those reading the thread....get this chip. i put a QS-933 on my DA-533 and after very very minor modification (run a wire for the extra mount) im now cruising along as Tone suggested. i can definetly tell a difference, especially in my photoshop app. double the horsepower for $150 bucks? its well worth it. i cant see spending $250-300 on something comparable with only a marignal speed increment.

One more bump before I resign myself to using eBay...
