Is AirPort Extreme Base Station compatible with D-Link DSL-2740R?

I currently have a Wireless ADSL Router (D-Link DSL-2740R) that I use to connect my devices to the internet (both wired and wirelessly). Is it possible to use this with an AEBS, and is it compatible with TalkTalk? I'm not very network-savvy, but I've had a poke around my router settings and it looks like I'm using PPPoE to connect to the internet currently. I haven't got a clue what I'm doing here.
