You can get them $50 off through educational pricing which doesnt require validation and EVERYONE does.

MBA i5 13" 256GB is $1499 at Best Buy, but you must order it since they don't have them in stock.

Be careful ordering from bestbuy online. I placed my order 2 hours ago and it's already backordered. :(

Yet you did agree to their terms and such that you do go to school and that they can charge your credit card for the extra amount if you don't give proof when they ask.

MacMall also has some decent discounts through their AppleInsider ad. I don't think they have all the models in yet, though.

Hopefully amazon matches them. They generally do if enough people notify them of them price difference.

I am probably going to go with Amazon to take advantage of the sales tax advantage--and get 2-day prime shipping once they get them in stock.

You can also get apple employee discount for a discount of either 25%, 15% or 10%. Why would you buy any other way? "EVERYONE does"

Scroll down to the bottom on the page and click on the link to tell them of a lower price.

Amazon does read these and often reacts.

Better question is, can you buy online (for CB purposes), pick up and request the $100 gc to match Apple's b2s promotion. That would be perfect

Depends on who you ask at the store.

Alright, dumb questions:

1. Best buy has a student discount program?
2. Is there a $100 gift card for buying a i5 macbook air?
3. The i5 macbook air is $1234 on sale already.

So are we looking at $1234- $100 - student discount?

If so, that is a very great deal.

1. No. They match apple's price.
2. Yes.
3. No. You will get it for $1234 + $100 GC

OK, so the price is $1234 + tax. Then they give you a $100 best buy gift card.
Now what is the return policy--I refuse to accept one with a dead pixel. Before I have had problems returning to Best buy for that reason. Are there restocking fees on apple laptops?

Since I'm not close to a best buy, is it possible to receive the $100 GC online?

I stayed up an extra 4hrs excitedly trimming down my hard drive after thinking I was lucky to score a 13" at BB last night. And this morning I see this and spend all morning restoring. 128 is too small for me and for only $200 now I can get a 256.

BTW. I got shot down on the edu gift card. So what's the magic words because they seem to have no idea what I was talking about.

it's pointless to argue on this, as every store and employee is different..
