So I just bought a new Macbook Air and it arrives on Tuesday. So what are some good accessories for the Macbook Air(Cases, Mice, carrying bags, sleeves, keyboards, monitors, ect.)?

Thanks

I recently got this case. It manages to be both light and protective. The only problem is that my new Air that is destined to occupy the case is still in the Fedex facility in Shanghai. :)

Since i'm going to a high school that has sort of a bad reputation for stealing things, I thought that I might be able to disguise my Mba as a book.:D

That's a cool case, does it have any inside pockets for a power cord or something along those lines?

Linked to the Canadian site since I buy in Canada.

I got one of these today. It's awesome. The materials are great. The Air is a perfect fit. They make these for Pros and both sizes of the Air.

The carrying handles are made of a high quality material that feels and looks like an expensive car's seatbelt quite a bit. The inside is all fuzzy and soft (so if dirt or sand gets in, the fuzzy soft material keeps the sand or dirt from being pressed and rubbed against the Air and scratching it up).

Overall an awesome case. I'd recommend it.

I would purchase that if they made it for the 13".

I'm amazed that people buy an ultra thin notebook, then wrap it in plastic and rubber until it's as thick and ugly as a Dell.

A good, generic sleeve, for carrying around in a backpack, and a basic stand for keeping it high and cool when it's attached to my Cinema Display, are all I need.

obviously you have the case under control.

1) wrapsol
2) external disk drive
3) external hard drive (or time capsule)
4) usb dongle/hub

I will get my 11" soon and I would never spend much money on a stupid case, so I searched for the cheapest case on ebay I could find, as it turned out it's also the most stylish one I have seen for the 11" so far :D

I have a question to those who use sleeves... is it cumbersome to carry around? Or do you drop it into a bookbag as well and the sleeve is solely to protect the Air while it's inside the bag? I'm thinking I want something as thin as a sleeve, but also with shoulder straps (not just a handle) so I don't necessarily have to carry a bookbag with me every time I want to bring my laptop somewhere...

Thoughts? Any recommendations? I'm thinking thin and light messenger with shoulder straps.

If carrying your Air in a backpack or messenger bag a thin 'crush proof' or hard sleeve would ideal. Such a thing is near impossible to find.

For backpack fans it's hard to find a medium size to hold the Air, few peripherals and notebooks. Nearly all backpacks are designed for 15" up, the little Airs get lost in there.

Wish more sleeve and bag makers would make a design around the Air...

Tom Bihn Ristretto for 13" MBA (http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/200/TB0223)

Tom Bihn Ristretto for 11" MBA (http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/200/TB0221)

I discovered this company in March. They have excellent customer service. Most of their bags are made from suppliers in the US using US made supplies. The bags are a little pricey--but they're built to last.

I actually just got a Ristretto for iPad/iPad2, which I might be able to make work with an 11" if/when I pull the trigger on the purchase.

They also make a sleeve for many laptops: Tom Bihn Cache (http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/ACC/TB0350)

Quite like Waterfield’s MacBook Air Wallet:

But, postage to UK makes it a relatively expensive option.

Can anyone recommend a good BT mouse?

Love the site, the little clear pouch's are exactly what I am looking for to hold some loose gadgets. I love my cocoon organizer, but sometimes I have some items that don't work in the cocoon.

Just get a black/white 13" sleeve deluxe from incase. I saw it on apples website and it looks pretty cool considering it was made for a macbook pro and you can put the MBA in there, have little more wiggle room for your other accessories. It even has a exterior pocket for the charger! I'll probably get that and put it all in my Louis Vuitton Messenger Daniel GM bag I got as a gift. I'm a dude btw and if you decide to get something like a name brand luxury brand thing, I'd say, don't give a rats a$$ of what others think of you. :D

you all want portability because you buy a MBA and than you buy a big case to put it in !!!!! Does not make sense to me. Buy the jolioriginals.nl very small and still protective and made in The Netherlands so good quality !!!!

What sort of price range? Personally, I just bought the Waterfield Muzetto bag (http://www.sfbags.com/products/muzetto/muzetto.php). Quality product, though obviously quite expensive. I also got one of these suede sleeves (http://sfbags.com/products/laptopsuedejacket/laptopsuedejacket.htm) as the Muzetto bag doesn't have much padding itself (other than the natural padding from the leather).

Is anyone getting a magic trackpad for their Air? I'm considering tossing one in on my order since I guess that it would be more comfortable to have it on the side while I'm sitting at my desk. In addition it would be nice to have for later if I decide to get an external monitor.

I think I will also get this Bluetooth mouse, I read it's working flawless with osx, this mouse is a lot cheaper here in europe, you can get it here for just 14€

I'm going to use the combination of these two:

http://www.myincipio.com/MacBook-Air-11in-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-MacBook-Air-11in-Slim-Sleeve-Case.asp

http://www.amazon.com/eBags-Laptop-Collection-Coated-Messenger/dp/B004B0B9PA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311543428&sr=8-1

I realize the Air will be swimming in the messenger bag, but I often need extra cords, papers, etc for my work so I need the space. When I know I won't need anything except the Air, I can just use the sleeve. I like both because they allow quick access to the Air when needed.

Accessories for the Air? First make sure you get a mini display port adaptor to whatever your monitor does (assuming you use an external monitor from time to time):

Go wtih monoprice rather than Apple:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5107&seq=1&format=2

(they have a bunch)

Then assuming you travel, get a travel bag that is XRAY friendly:
http://www.brenthaven.com/pc-catalog/edge-i-jet-black-sleeve-0#viewer

If you get the brenthaven, then all you have to do is remove cables from the front pouch and you can leave the laptop in the bag as it goes under the xray. I keep my cables in a separate small pouch within the front pocket of the case so I can easily do this.

Then, assuming you do not have a thunderbolt display you may want to get a second power adapter that you can keep at the ready next to the external monitor, and keep another in your travel bag.
