Lion on MBP is only 5 hours battery life?

50% brightness, msn client, safari surfing = only 5 hours? 😕

Consider that Lion for the most part is a bit more taxing and compare it to what you were getting in Snow Leopard. If the times are not off by a lot, consider it normal.

is it the 15 inch quadcore?
In that case thats great battery life 🙂

It's the 2010 15".

On Snow Leopard I had more battery life under the same usage though. Could get 6 hours.

My 2010 got a hit on battery life with lion also. 6-7 (SL) to about 5 (lion) like you said.

I get around five hours on Lion, as well. Apple will continue to update the OS in order to fix bugs and add new/improve features. Maybe battery life will get better after an update or two.

I'm still on 6-7h on Lion. Just make sure your discrete graphics is turned off and it'll be easy to hit that.
