Happy birthday to me! My girl bought me a 512 shuffle for my bday! haha. Anyway, I have a rev a PB...and I didn't realize, but I have USB 1.1 Is there anyway to get a firewire -> usb converter and use firewire? I want faster load time.

Most Firewire to USB adapters come with a DV adapter, too, unfortunately.

Have a look on Google.

You only have 512 megs to worry about. Not like 20 gigs... So the load times aren't *that* long...

i agree, i have a rev. a powerbook as well, and my shuffle load time isnt that big of a hassle, now for the 6gig mini i just got as a gift, that would take forever over usb 1.1, so i had to go out and get a firewire cable for it.....but i wouldnt worry about the shuffle, plus it gives it a chance to charge at the same time!

It was bad enough on my MDD, that I picked up a USB 2.0 card pretty quickly - as in the next day.

Just plug it in, hit autofill, and leave it for awhile. Hey, it has to charge anyway right?

I guess its not *that* bad to do it over USB 1.1 I'm just an uber geek and like having adapters that aren't necessary and stuff. btw, amazing that 5 people responded in like...half an hour. This board gets a TON of traffic.

considering that there are 50,000+ registered users, yep during the day this place is very active, come late at night (US time) things slow down considerably

like i said eariler though, if you had a 1gig i could understand the need for an adapter, but for the 512 i dont think its neccissary

Congrats on the Shuffle. Finally saw one out of the box the other day. Could not get over just how small it is! Excuse me while I go and hide my charge cards..... :D

I saw one in person for the first time today, and all I can say is wow, that's small. I had seen tons of pictures before and comparison pictures and all that, but when you actually see it in person...wow...
