Hey all,
I recently purchased a baseline Mac Mini that I will be using in my home theater. However, I'd like to check the capabilities of the hardware before I start installing and configuring the system (I know I should have done this before I purchased the computer but I made a semi-impulse decision). If I'm interested in the results, I'm sure there are other people on this forum would be interested as well.
I figured this video would be a good benchmark test. I'm specifically looking to see how many dropped frames the the Mini has with the linked video. The best way to check for the dropped frames that I'm aware of is with VLC. While the video is running in VLC, hit Command + I and check under the statistics tab.
When I get back home I'll post the results of an out of the box baseline Mac Mini. If anyone would be willing to post the results of a 2.3 Ghz Mini with upgraded RAM, the 2.5 Ghz with the AMD video card or the quad core server version, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
