Hey,

Like many people I am a bit disappointed with the rather short battery life of my MBA. I am mainly working on the go and since the MBA is my primary machine I want it to last as long as possible.

I looked through a lot of threads in order to find ways to prolong battery life. I would like to consolidate the information in one place, so it would be great if you could share your own personal best practices to conserve battery life. I'll update this post based on your responses.

Turn off Flash
Flash seems to be a battery killer! Install a browser extension such as "Flash Block" or "Click to Flash" to disable the automatic playback of flash content. If needed you can still play flash content by clicking on the blocked object.

Turn off Bluetooth
If you don't need it, turn it off. Conserves battery life since it doesn't poll for nearby bluetooth devices. System Preferences -> Bluetooth

Buy an external battery
I came across http://www.hypershop.com/HyperJuice-External-Battery-for-MacBook-iPad-iPhone-USB-s/91.htm which seems to look pretty nice and light. Does anyone have experience with this?

Undervolt your CPU (Not for Sandy Bridge)
See https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1188327/

Dim your screen
Pretty self-explanatory. The lower your screen brightness the longer your battery will last.

Quit all unused pograms, especially those doing background work
Pretty self-explanatory.
