Is anyone else finding that thumbnail images in Finder are taking ages to appear?
This occurs with photo`s and also thumbs of movie files etc both from the internal drive and externals.
SL was pretty sluggish at this (for me at least) too but Lion is taking so long
to render them as to make the feature almost unusable and navigating photo`s just using file names is hopeless.

Hoping it`s just a glitch.
Appreciate any input you might have, thanks.

I agree. Finder takes ages to render pretty all types of thumbnails including ones that have generic types such as pdf, zip, rar, doc, etc.

Any explanation, workarounds or fixes?

Can't say I've noticed that. Panther was really bad in that regard, but from Tiger on I haven't really had any complaints.

Do you have any Quicklook-Plugins installed?
