I know the general consensus is that the Samsung SSD in the Air is faster than the Toshiba one.

These benchmarks reach different conclusions. In 4 out of 5 benchmarks the Kingston V+ 100 beats the Samsung 470. all 4 of them are real world benchmarks. In real life it's unlikely you'll notice any difference though.

Kingston V+ 100 uses the exact same Toshiba controller and performs nearly identical to the Toshiba SSD Apple uses in the Air. Samsung 470 is virtually the same as the Samsung SSD.

Oops forgot to say, Kingston V+ 100 uses the exact same Toshiba controller and performs nearly identical.

I've clarified the start post.

This is quite amusing really

After the initial panic and the hundreds of people using their smug smilies upon realisation they have the samsung panel and ssd it soon transpires once the reviews are out and that the real benchmarks are in that

- The differences between the 2 panels are indistinguishable (coming from evidence posted by an owner of both)
- That this war happened with the MBP some time ago and that they actually preferred the LG panel
- That the ssd when on test with real world applications is actually benching quicker than the samsung

Very amusing indeed
