Worth the upgrade?

So I'm currently debating between a new iMac or simply upgrading the MacBook I have now and running it until it craps out on me.

It has 2.0 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo but only 1 GB of RAM, so I was thinking of maxing it out at 4 GB and upgrading to Lion. It's not that there is anything wrong with the laptop...it is just starting to feel a little sluggish. Would bumping up the RAM take care of that?

Oh for sure. You'll find that Lion is much better than the Leopards. It improved the performance on my last gen black MB. Do it, you'll be glad you did.

Yes - 1Gb is on the low side.

If within budget, I would go for the maximum RAM install (4GB?).

I noticed the difference going from 2Gb to 4Gb and from 4Gb to 8Gb especially running Windows 7 via Parallels.
