MacRumors, I thought I knew you.
While on MacRumors with no other open windows, I recieved a pop up, saying that "Your computer was at risk!!" in the form of a Windowz alert box.
I was worried that my Windows computer was at risk, then I calmed down when I found out that I was running Jaguar, which is probably the reason I was on MacRumors.

whatever brings in money and allows arn to keep up the site without TOO much of a loss...
you can always be a contributor and:
1. help reduce the need for pop ups
2. as a contributor you get access to a members version of the site without the pop ups.
:) :)

I think what you have seen is a pop up that has a timer it will pop up much later after you've moved on unless you quit out of the browser.

I never get pop ups at this site and no I'm not running Chimera or any other blocking programs. If it were me I would quit hanging out at the pron sites. Delayed adds will get you everytime.:D

I haven't sold my soul to MacRumors yet to prevent these pop up ads.:D If I get them they're just so infrequent I don't remember them. I have been thinking about that god status though and it seems like I might be able to swing the dollars to get it. Though I'm already a god why do I need to pay for it.;)

a lot of ad companies that used to do just banners have been screwing the sites that work with them with popups. I know we did at telefragged....so we moved
really I think that the W3C needs to put some sort of restriction into the html standard to kill advertisement popups that have nothing to do with the content of the main site.
