Macbook Logic Pro crash, memory update?

alright guys. i have a Macbook, that has 2gb of memory at the moment. i am currently recording a great band and one the projects im recording them with has at least 40 tracks open on logic. and HOLY CRAP. i cannot tell you how many times i have gotten the Logic Overload, system could not process all the audio blah blah. and it is extremely frustrating. it also has crashed this particular project more times than i could count. are there any fixes for this problem? i am thinking of upgrading my memory, either to 4gb, or 8. i am leaning towards 8. will this get rid of the problem? thank you guys!
