I have an external WD RAID 1 drive attached via FW800 for iTunes.
In SL and now Lion, the screen blanks almost immediately when I go away - which is what I want. It is also set to require a password immediately - which is also what I want.
In Lion however, when I come back - and now I must press a key on the keyboard rather than wiggle the mouse - I get the spinning beach ball at the login prompt until the external drive spins up (and since it is a RAID 1 drive - that means both drives need to spin up). In SL, I could login and the drives would only spin up when I actually wanted to use them or iTunes needed to use them - now it happens just to login.
Anyone else?
---
On another note, I also have an external FW Lacie Bigger D2 on another Mac that never sleeps - never did under SL nor under Lion. Any ideas on this would be appreciated as well.
Thanks.
