Yeh and me too! but I dont have a Mac to load it on. I will probably stop of at Bond n Bond's newly refurbished Queen St store to check it out anyway on the way home from work on Friday 29th just to see how it goes. The store looks great.
(Edit) Hopefully we wont be too far away from getting it here at work. I would imagine we will be looking at Tiger server as well.... since we run a lot of stuff currently on our Xserve.

Officially we get it first, but I reckon that some resellers will probably sell it early, regardless of what country they're in.

Gosh- so we really are having staggered 6pm launch times. How bizarre - and what a strange time of day if they're not trying to get a time with most people awake... It will definitely be more pleasant to get home from Regent St at 6pm than it would be at midnight.

Does that mean that each US Apple Store will do it at 6pm in their time zone or will the US just do it at 6ET which would seem more sensible?

I heard that they, Apple, are planning to ship pre-orders so they arrive on the 29th if that's the case then I might have it the evening of the 28th.

Whenever I've pre-ordered DVD/CD's they've arrived the night before around 8pm because our postal delivery service drop of to 'PODs' (like PO Boxes where you enter a code they email or TXT to you when you have a delivery) after last post assuming most people aren't going to make a journey to the POD until the following day.

I don't get it... New Zealand is getting it at 6pm on the 29th like the rest of us. What do you mean they're getting it first??

Because we are just west of the International date line by about 200kms so we are about 3 hours before Sydney. It is currently Friday 15th April here approx midday, whereas you guys in the US are still on Thursday arvo/evening. The date line runs trhough a small village in Fiji.

As a moderator, I should be setting an example, not helping to spam. But it's not often that we get an NZ-specific thread, so I'll spam away :p

I saw a Tui billboard the other day, 'I past NCEA Inglish' :D

Unfortunately a lot of people wouldn't get that :(

But just 'Windows XP is great' is shorter and more to the point, throwing 'OS' in there nerdifies it a bit.

And for the record, I finished school before that horrible system came into effect :)

Edit: BTW, what phone company do you use? Telstra's giving away free iPod shuffles :D
