How to get the enter key to work

Im using an app. that requires the use of the enter key to input info.

does any one know how to make this work on my 2008 black macbook 2.4?

specifically which function key when used with the fn button will cause the return key to behave as an enter key....

ive tried writing the command in system preferences but still cant get the app.

to respond appropriately...

The app is Finale. Its a music notation software.

I tried both suggestions ( tab return and function return as well as every function key while pressing fn)....no luck.

since i dont know another app to try and see if the computer is indeed switching from return to enter i dont know if its the computer or the app. which is being unresponsive...

any other suggestions?
