I want to use the bootcamp partition in my hard drive to do a fresh Lion install so I'd like to move it to one of my external drives. I have a USB one and a Firewire one, in case it makes a difference.

I was thinking of using Winclone or something similar to copy the partition to an external drive and then try to boot from it. Has anyone here done it? Is it possible?

Thanks in advance

Definitely not a USB external. Windows is essentially designed NOT to boot from removable externals. Some FireWire drives may possibly work as well as the still unobtainium ThunderBolt drives.

Do you think the ThunderBolt drives will be able to do such?
