Hope you got through it OK, Tom
I'd imagine that your fiancee had a good idea of what she wanted to hear so perhaps you were able just to nod in agreement. ;)

"All the Diamonds in the World" by Bruce Cockburn. Except the song has lasted longer than my marriage.
Think I missed the 30 minute deadline.

LOL, coming from a 13 year old:
There are a lot of factors... like, ethnicity, etc.
For example, if you were spanish or come from a latin area, Desame Mucho would be appropriate, etc.

Also, not like a slow song, but:
Church on Sunday by Green Day... it was written about Billie Joe (lead singer) renewing his wedding vows with his wife...
"(When I say)/If I promise to go to church on Sunday/Will you go with me on Friday night?/If you live with me, I'll die for you/And this compromise"

You mean Besame Mucho, as in kiss me plenty.
My suggestion is I Wanna Sex You Up, by Color me Badd. Common. You know you want to.

I'm in the same quandary for my wedding in October. I keep trying to persuade my fiance to go for the Montagues and the Capulets by Prokofiev http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=19095991&selectedItemId=19095928. Basically I want the tune to start and her to burst through the doors and stride full tilt towards me with a load of smoke and lighting behind her.......she's not keen strangely enough.

Two things NOT to do:
1. Don't use "Every Breath You Take" by the Police, which is reportedly often used at weddings when, in fact, it's a stalker song.
2. Don't sweat the music much. Pick what you like and that'll be fine. You might not even notice it much. I carefully planned our "playlist" thinking it was critical to get just the right songs, but the day went by in a blur and I had no idea afterwards how much of it was actually played.

Of a more "Classic(al)" vein..
There's always the oft used Canon in D by J. Pachelbel. Here's a nice quartet version: LINK (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=39386529&selectedItemId=39386517)
There's always the amusing "Marriage of Figaro" by W. Mozart. Here's a common version: LINK (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=709603&selectedItemId=709462)
(Similar to) what I walked down the aisle to, G. Handel's Air from Water Music (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=4325811&selectedItemId=4325691)
And the iTMS is down, so I cannot offer anymore Classical.

My wife walked down to a Traci Lords song (no kidding.) I had edited it up to be just the instrumental part.
Distant Land (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=0&selectedItemId=61329) was the name of the song.
After we were done with the vows we walked out to The Platters' Twilight Time (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=0&selectedItemId=3452941). Mainly because it was perfectly timed to be twilight time when the marriage part of the wedding was done.

I have to suggest the ultimate song
Les Fleur- 4 hero
Info->4 Hero “Les Fleur” (12" - Talkin Loud)
If you’re expecting some chilled drum and bass number - forget it. For whilst this may be relatively down tempo there isn’t so much as a whisper of danceworthy beats to be found anywhere.
Les Fleur is a cover of the staggering Minnie Ripperton track from over a few decades ago, and although they stick faithfully to the original 4 Hero manage to come up with a spine tingling, monster – orchestra sweeps, full blown choirs, and trumpets. A beautiful and at the same time triumphant release. Gorgeous.
What do you say?

Hahahah...By any chance is your bride named Brunhilda and does the earth tremble with everystep she takes? I'd think that Montagues and Capulets is a bad choice.
The last wedding I did we went with a very traditional setup:
Meditation from Thais - Massenet
Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring - Bach
Sonata in F maj Movement 1 - Handel
Cello Suite No. 4 in E flat (Prelude) - Bach
Waltz No. 7 - Chopin
Think of Me (Phantom o' the Opera) - Weber
Gift of Thistle / For The Love of a Princess (Braveheart) - Horner
We also had a Canon in D - Pachelbel for the processional. Everything was arranged (mostly by me by hand) for violin and piano (exception being the Chopin piece and Cello Suite No.4 which were piano and violin solos respectively).
I would have loved to do the second movement of String Quartet Number 2 by Borodin (commonly referred to as a nocturne). It too is excellent wedding filler music.
Hope that helps.

LOL, I don't think my fiance would be too chuffed to be referred to as Brunhilda. Maybe that's why she objects.
Nocturne is a beautiful piece of music by the way but a little melancholic for a wedding don't you think? I thought about having it too along with Satie's Gymnopedie No.1 but they're both a little too reflective sounding I feel.
Edit: Actually i'm thinking of Chopin's Nocturne there....oops.

This is not in order from best to worst or anything but if you want something different yet fitting you can go with:
1. Coldplay - The Scientist
2. Kenna - Yeneh Ababa (Rose) <-------- that would really work well ;)
3. The Decemberists - The Bus Mall
4. The Decemberists - Grace Cathedral Hill
6. American Anolog Set - Choir Vandal <----- very good as well
5. Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism
6. The Sadies - Why Be Curious
Hope that helps buddy, and mazel tov on the marriage :)

our first dance song!
Me too - that was our first dance song - its a nice song with very appropriate lyrics.
I think its actually called "Truly Madly Deeply" but I'm sure your wife knows that ;)
For people who are less soppy than me, you could try "Smack my B*tch Up" by the Prodigy or maybe "Housework" by the B-52s!
