I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade my White late 2007 Macbook on SL with bootcamp windows XP upgrade straight to Lion without loosing windows XP? Is that possible or do I have to delete the windows partition to have a propert working Lion upgrade?

Yes, that works, and will simply leave everything in place. However, if you ever want to create a new Boot Camp partition in Lion, you need to have Windows 7. Note, too, that Winclone no longer works in Lion, so if you were using that to back up your partition, you'll need another solution.
