Apple Warranty and RAM

If I were to buy a 1GB RAM stick from Crucial and put it in my PowerBook, would that void my Apple warranty/APP? I'm just wondering, because I don't want to unwittingly void my warranty, but I also don't want to have to pay $500 to buy a 1GB stick from Apple.

I appreciate the help.

Apple classes RAM as a user servicable part – so you can add extra RAM (not just Apple branded) with no worries about your warranty. If it helps put your mind at rest, Crucial RAM is top-notch stuff and you'll find a lot of people on these boards who'd recommend it.

... Like me. The Crucial stick I have in the PB has been working flawlessly since I got it, and at a fraction of the cost of Apple's price, it was a bargain
