Anyone to increase sound from speakers

I did a search but couldnt find out how or if.

My volume is very low. is there anyway to force the volume louder?

First off, the speakers in the Air aren't really meant to blast a room with sound - they are utilitarian at best. But I saw a program on the App Store called Boom which has gotten very positive results which is supposed to make Mac speakers sounds louder.
