View Full Version : Garageband crisis - please help

Is there any way to revert to certain save of a project in garageband?

I had a garageband project which I was working on just now, but I realised (after I'd clicked save) that I deleted a whole track rather than the intended segment. Is there any way I can revert to the version I saved a couple of days back rather than the file I saved today?

Whilst I'm here, has anyone else had this problem? Whereby when you delete a (individually recorded) section of a track it deletes all the segments in the track? It's even more annoying when the earlier segments of the track are out of view and you can't see what has happened. I never had this with Snow Leopard, I've only had it since upgrading to Mac OS X Lion.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What happened is not and OS issue - IMO you need to develope better backup habits - such as saving your project to two distinct drives.

But back to your issue:

You could try the Package Contents:

Command-click the problem Garageband Project and select "Show Package Contents"open the Package Contents folder open the Media folder.
Copy any .aif files out of the package and put them somewhere safe
Import the .aif files into a new Garageband Project and see if your files were saved.
