Hi
I have these headphones and i really like them. I use them at home with my mac pro with a motuu 828 mk2 and they're enough amplified.
Now i'd like to use them also when i'm travelling with my macbook pro.
So i recently buyed a native instruments audio2dj, mainly because i had a few gigs to play and needed a cheap card to use on the road but also because the motu is too big to carry around.
The problem is that this card does not have enough power for the AKGs, and the volume is very low compared to when i listen to them in my studio.
So now need to buy a new soundcard, a small one, but with good amplifier that would let me enjoy my headphones.
I looked around and i found that apogee could be an alternative, but i read someone with the AKG 701 suffering same low amp problem.
Anyone here uses these headphones with a portable setup and could suggest me which hardware to buy? Are these new small motu any good? Or should i just buy an amp like the headroom?
Thanks for in advance!

The simplest solution would be a headphone amp IMO.

I like the Rolls PM351 (http://www.zzounds.com/item--RLLPM351). It is pricey though at $85 USD.
But then again you have nice headphones so I wouldn't
Risk a cheaply made amp with them.
