Whoops, I got lost in my own pool of choices. Oh well, the Cube didn't do too great on the first series of polls anyway.

Would have chosen the cube, but as already pointed it is missing so I chose the original iMac because it brought me to the mac platform.

I picked the Messagepad. Nothing on the market can do what this product that was discontinued almost 5 years ago can do. WAAAYY ahead of its time.

i miss selling my newton 2000.... really miss it, but then again, i would have never been able to afford my pb3400c.....

The Mac Plus would have gotten my vote, since it sparked the DTP revolution, and got Apple where they are today. But since the Plus is not on the list, I voted for the 128k for two reasons.

1. It was the first Mac, and the first computer of it's kind (GUIs cost $10.000+ (Lisa $9.995) before the Mac came along, and the Mac had the most sophisticated GUI of it's time).

2. The story of how the Mac come to be, is one of the most fascinating in computer history. The Macintosh was originally destined to be a $500 gaming machine....

the mac made a splash in silicon valley in 1984 in a big way, but it still pales in comparison to the apple computer which basically jump started the whole region to change from being a cottage insdustry into a full-on top drawer industry

the apple II built the apple inc empire which the macintosh later built on and steve wozniak, the father of the apple I and apple II, recently was named the inventor of the personal computer (one the great inventions in human history):D

I will not argue that the Apple II was not a great milestone in personal computing. It was the milestone in personal computing, but I belive the Mac has had a greater impact on how we use our computers and what we think of them. To single out the greatest Apple technology is not an easy task. To be fair, I would have a list of five:

1. Apple II (1977)
2. Macintosh (1984)
3. QuickTime (1991)
4. Newton (1993)
5. Mac OS X (2001)

I would have to say the invention of the Powerpc in general really sparked it all. Oh and OSX 10.1 really did usher in a new era of GUI UNIX computing, or just computing on macs in general
