ZeptoLab has released a successor to multi-million (http://apps2day.com/cut-rope-passes-6-million-sales-13-weeks/) selling game Cut The Rope. The new game, titled Cut the Rope: Experiments, expands on the simple physics model with a few new gadgets. From TouchArcade's review (http://toucharcade.com/2011/08/05/cut-the-rope-experiments-review/):
One is a button that shoots a rope at the candy. The rope can snag it in midair, leading to some impressive carnival stunts. The other is a rope on a suction cup that can be attached and detached with a touch. It still obeys the laws of physics, so you need to be quick to reattach it while it's dropping. Both of the new gadgets give you a bit more freedom to move the candy around the levels, and they're great fun to play with.ZeptoLab (http://zeptolab.com/) followed Angry Birds-maker Rovio (http://www.rovio.com/) by self-publishing its Cut the Rope sequel and dropping game publisher Chillingo.

Cut the Rope: Experiments is available for iPhone ($0.99 (http://appshopper.com/games/cut-the-rope-experiments)) and iPad ($1.99 (http://appshopper.com/games/cut-the-rope-experiments-hd)) on the App Store.

I'm actually not either, and I wasn't a fan of Angry Birds, but then one is a blast, and is easy enough and the levels are short enough it's a fun time waster.

Isn't the point of www.toucharcade.com to post, talk and review apps? Is MacRumors going to become like TUAW and Mac Stories with the constant app recommendations.

I'll save the "If you don't like MacRumors then find another site, the rest of us like it" for the dozens of others who are going to flame you. Godspeed my friend.

However, most of those you referenced were in fact on the 'Blog', not the front page news or anything else like that. I appreciate hearing about it. They don't review apps at all, actually, rather discuss news-worthy submissions. Kind of like your local news talking about a new electric car from Nissan or a return of some very popular in your area commodity. Things people wanna hear about.

As el-John-o said, most of these posts are in ADDITION to what's on the front page. Anything on the blog should be considered a bonus. Significant apps are definitely worth covering, just not necessarily on the front page.

This game is quickly growing and I'm sure it'll be similar to Angry Birds.

I'm confused, what was supposed to happen?

Significant apps are definitely worth covering, just not necessarily on the front page.

I get that this was posted to the blog, and I agree that significant apps should get coverage.

this thing's been out for about a week already. And I've beaten it already Lol

Same here.

I'm not disagreeing with the OP, Cut the Rope is a fun game, I was just puzzled as to why it was being covered here on MacRumors.

I like cut the rope. It's a fun "poop game" as my friend says. Hahaha. However I am a little upset they released this as a whole new version you have to pay for instead of adding it to the existing game. Just another way to get money. Oh well, props to them for a good game an marketing.

Actually, I came to this FROM the front page. Perhaps that sidebar is supposed to be blog chatter, but it's not obvious.

I'm constantly puzzled as to why MacRumors posts so many iDevice/iOS rumours, rather than Mac rumours. And on the front page not just the blog. Hey-ho!

There are actually two levels that I can't get all three stars on in this one and it is killing me.

I would say Cut the Rope has more free level updates than any other game I have on my phone. They've added 3 boxes since I first got it to the main game, and released a free holiday version.

I loved Cut the Rope at the beginning in my iPhone. But it got complicated in not a fun way.

The game seems simple but the levels get complicated not just by the game itself but by the usability stand point. You will be force not only to use 2 fingers but also to use them in a way that cover most visibility on the iPhone small screen. It's way too frustrating I rather play ganmes like Angry Birds better suited to play in the small screen

... That being said, I will try again when I get an iPad there will be more visual real state I can play that game

I got the first one on iPad and loved it, put it on my iPhone and hated it! The screen size makes all the difference.
