Man Catches Fire During Surgery

Quite an amazing story. Will be interesting to hear how this actually happened. All the instruments in the operating room are supposed to be insulated. Sounds as though is isn't a case of human spontaneous combustion.

Having been able to scrub on a few cases just now, the thought of combustible fluids did come to mind...but who uses alcohol? on an open heart case?
At least they leave the argon gas pulsifierthingamajiggy to the transplant team...

Is it possible one of those cutting lasers hit alcohol causing a spark and the fire?
