I bought a universal dock today hoping that my mom could easily use it with my old ipod..
I connected it to the stereo and no sound comes out. I used my 4th Gen ipod touch and it does work. on the Apple Store page it says it is compatible with it..

it only works if i tilt the dock forward.. is this because i need the dock connector??
What should I do??
I think i cant return it because I opened the box and removed most of the plastic covering the dock.. etc..
