Reproducible Safari 1.3 Bug (10.3.9)

Can someone see if this happens for them:

Open a new window in Safari
Type bmj.com and copy it into the clipboard
Open a new tab (Command-T) and Paste (Command-V) the text into the (empty) address bar and press return.

On my machine, Safari hangs...
