As well as being a mac user for years, I consider myself to be an independent songwriter/artist. I began recording my first cd with an iMac 233mhz Rev A model. Now use a powermac. I needed the power. I've had one cd out for a couple years and recently released a new one. All of which are available at most mp3 download sites, especially iTunes. It's really exiting to see my stuff there. One thing I noticed is that I must to a search for it though. It says my genre is Rock. But I'm not listed in the rock list. Most main stream artist are readily made available in ads an most importantly the genre listings. What about the indie artist? I've actually had a few people download my songs from iTunes. Just don't know how they even found me. If you are a regular mp3 downloader.... how do you search for new music? I have to say I create music as a hobby. Not exactly in it for the money, just the enjoyment of creating something and putting it out there. I would be curious if anyone here currently or has searched for more independent music on iTunes for example. I simply want my music to be heard. Any thoughts? Ideas or suggestions?
