Its a content delivery network. Its supposed to decrease the amount of time it takes to load webpages and decrease server load. The thing thats' causing MacRumors slow downs are the 3rd party ad hosting sites.

So, even blocking ads from being displayed, we are still subject to the overhead of them being down-loaded.

Colour me annoyed.

I really grow tired of MR grinding to a halt wile cdn.macrumors.com resolves. I frequently just close the tab and move on.

Yeah,what makes me annoying is cdn.macrumors.com.I don't know how to do it.Hope someone could give more suggestions.Thanks.

I have the same problem with another vbulletin forum that I frequent (BikeForums (www.bikeforums.net)). MR doesn't get as bad as BikeForums does. With BikeForums, I will often attempt to load the website, give up, leave the tab open, come back to it, it says "unable to load this page", I reload, and the page magically loads. IME, MR doesn't grind to a halt for minutes on end, like bikeforums does.
