Have you ever noticed that a lot of non-Mac people refer to our machines as "MAC"s? I've seen this on sites whose products ostensibly support Macs and have seen tons of PC people write it. Is there a good (historical) reason for it, or do people for some reason think that Mac is an acronym? :confused:

It seems to be a fetish of some sort. PC users are used to typing WIN32, UNIX, etc, so MAC only seems natural. It is a bit annoying though.

You guys seem a bit obsessive to me. Almost everyone writes I in caps, that's just the way it is. That doesn't mean that they don't use non-caps for everything else.

uggggggg that is the worst. I hate when people talk in caps. Like in a starcraft game, you will have an allie and they will say 'MY FAVORITE UNIT IS THE PYLON - IT'S REALLY POWERFUL' that is about the time I leave because he is most definitely a

I've noticed that...but honestly whenever I see "MAC" I think of the overpriced cosmetics that my ex-girlfriend used to like... :rolleyes:

something I have noticed...is it just me or maybe the time of season...but is there a lot of bitchiness & panties being strung up in a bunch going on around here lately? :eek:

I'm a pc user, but I don't refer to the Mac as "MAC" - In fact, when I see "MAC", I think "MAC Address".

Oddly enough, the graphic design people next to my workstation (I'm in web design) know less about Macs than I do (and I have never owned a mac! my new ipod is my first Apple purchase) - some of them DO refer to Apple as "Mac" :)

They all have new dual G4s and 21" screens. Bah.

i dont mind MAC as much as i hate it when people refer to apple the company as mac (ex: why dont you call mac and get that fixed?) its like the name of a reliable plumber:) i think it might have to do with the fact that most PC users dont have any dinstictions like that.....or that their pissed at us for not calling them Pc users;)
