Deus Ex: Human Revolution

The reviews are out, and it looks very promising!!

Would love to pick this up. Too bad I'm having surgery on my right hand this Friday, which will prevent me from ANY gaming whatsoever for at least a month and a half.

Anyone planning to pick this up at launch?

But they mostly talk about computer specs and corresponding graphic settings there.

Well, I finally picked it up and started playing, and so far, I am underwhelmed.

- Gameplay mechanics: I have found that I do not like the constant switching between 1st and 3rd person at all. If you want to make a cover-based shooter, just stick with 3rd person.

- Characters: I simply cannot bring myself to care for any of those characters. Makes it hard for me to get drawn into the story without any form of emotional attachment. Cheesy voice-acting, poor face animations and odd anatomical proportions (small heads, huge hands?) don't help.


I'll try a little more, maybe it will grip me at some point, but as of now, it's just kind of "bleh" to me.
