I'm thinking of getting a pair of CAD M179s with the Apogee Duet 2. But I read online somewhere that somebody was experiencing problems with the Duet (the first one) and phantom power specifically with the M179. Apparently the M179 needs a lot of power as opposed to some other mics that use a lot less than 48v phantom power. I read often times, since most mics don't need that much power, that audio devices come up short on the actual amount of voltage that they supply. How could Apogee get away with something like this? Does anybody have any experience with these mics or the Duet? Is the Duet 2's phantom power any different than the original duet? Ideas? Thanks!
