Was just wondering how many hours of streaming video playback people are getting on their 13 inch 2011 macbook airs before battery is drained completely (e.g. running videos off youtube)? Assuming max brightness and backlit keyboard dimmed, no other open windows.

Perhaps if you could clarify a specific website? YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix? Personally, I have never streamed a video with nothing else running until the system put itself to sleep. Not that I don't plan to, just never had the time.
I'm sure some other members will have statistics. I would think 4-5hrs would be possible??

Interesting. Engadget writes:
"In another video playback test -- specifically playing a movie file "in full-screen mode at full brightness, connected to a Wi-Fi network, with the backlit keyboard dimmed, and volume on 2" -- MacWorld tested both the 11-Inch and 13-Inch models and reported:
Roughly three-and-a-half hours for the 11-inch model and five-and-a-half hours for the 13-inch. Those figures were both improvements on the battery life of the previous-model Airs. (The increased speed of the build-to-order Core i7 processor option didn't have a major impact on battery life, either.)"

So nobody is getting close to those numbers?

this is a h246 video playback, most likely from the SSD. you are streaming over the internet. That does make a difference.

I was going to test this last night and then I remembered the recent "my macbook air pegs are melting off" thread and thought better of it. :p:D;)
But please....members, don't let that stop you from testing and re-posting to this thread. :p;):p;)
