Thanks to the "powers that be" at MacRumors for renaming this forum to something which more accurately depicts the topics under discussion.

Honestly though, I was holding out for "The Snakepit." ;)

Is the war over, then? Mission Accomplished?

i think it's simply a recognition that politics and war are now synonymous.

seriously, i think the goal was to reduce the number of threads that start in Current Events or Community Discussion and wind up here. i.e. the endless, factually-challenged social equivalents of "PC vs. Mac" will now start here. hurray.

They're generally moved here anyway.

The other choice was "Discussion of controversial issues about which people often feel strongly and that are unlikely to be resolved in our lifetimes", so this is a better choice. :)

The name is new. The purpose is the same as before. Moderation is the same as before. The rules are the same as before.

Yeah, this should have been done a while ago, but we had to wait for a good opportunity to re-organize the whole forums. Enjoy. :)

Now that's a scary thought!

Carl von Clausewitz (prussian general and military theoretican, 1780-1831)

"Der Krieg is eine bloße Fortsetzung der Politik mit anderen Mitteln"
War is a simply continuation of politics by different means

and now ask yourself which country is the Prussia of today ;)

I like the new name...it's a lot more comprehensive.

I also like your avatar, Rower. Get it from Microsoft? :D

Heh, just a placeholder until I get my new one done. Hopefully, it'll change tonight.
