Windows 7 and OSX 10.5.8

Will i be able to install Windows 7 onto my MBP? It's from 2008/2009 (can't remember -.-) and i am running OSX 10.5.8.

Will i be able to successfully instal Windows 7 or am i limited to xp/vista.

Have you noticed any major problems with it? Or does it run smoothly?

Main reason for windows 7 will be for some games, but i also have a few engineering and scientific programming programs that i need to run on windows for school
