Quality tune by U2, they still can pump out hits to this very day. Sure it's often over used by politicans and advertisers but it has it's moments when you haven't heard it for a while. :D

i'm a huge u2 fan (got the ipod.. done a site...) but this is far from their best - actually it's bottom of the pile

I can only imagine that those of you who think this song is one of their best are youngins. Look back to War and the Joshua Tree and you will find their best. Though this isn't their best song, it's not their worst either.

This is another great song my U2, but it really doesn't compare to the experimental material from the 90's.

I'm a relatively new U2 fan, but I first heard them via their early albums where they had a more open, modal, Celtic/Folk-inspired sound. I think Beautiful Day is a great song as it is a "return to form". I appreciate their more modern, experimental stuff too, but the simple, pure quality of their early work is something Beautiful Day, Electric Storm, and much of their new Atomic Bomb album captures beautifully.

This song reminds me of being in Gillette stadium on the night that the Patriots unveiled their first SuperBowl plaque and showed off their trophy on Monday Night Football... They blasted 'Beautiful Day' out through that massive sound system with lots of fireworks overhead...
