I have a dual 2.0 G5 that I have recently bought some extra RAM sticks for, and I once heard a rumor that RAM should ideally be placed in the slots from largest to smallest... for example, slot 1 would hold a pair of 512MB sticks, slot 2 would hold a pair of 256MB sticks, etc.
Is this true? Just curious.

It's not a rumor but the size doesn't matter.
What matters is that they are matched pairs going outwards from the centre.
There are two banks of RAM. Install them like this:
ABCD-DCBA
Our work G5s have 2 x 256 in the centre slots and 4 x 512 in slots going outwards so it doesn't matter that the smallest ones are in the central slots.
Hope that clears it up for you.
