Hi,

I have this problem where if I were to do my regular tasks, i.e. web browsing, chat, mail, and if I went into Starcraft 2, my frame rates would be low, like 20s, but if I restarted my computer then the frame rates would be around 40-50 initially.

Is this normal? Or is there something wrong with my computer?

Thanks,

Its an 2011 11" Ultimate by the way.

i dont know much about gaming, but maybe its RAM?

video RAM on the Air is shared. i would think with 4GB it wouldnt matter, but who knows. you can check your RAM usage in Activity Monitor (in Utilities, which in is Applications).

i doubt its the CPU, but i could be wrong.

As mentioned above when you open different applications, RAM is being stored to reopen those previous page (aka multitasking).
When you restart all those RAM gets released.
This helps you play your game more smoothly.

Somehow I doubt this has anything to do with CPU throttling...
