Hi All,

New to the forum, but have been a longtime lurker.

I'm using Lion to get my corporate email, which is based on an exchange 2007 server. In mail.app, I have can successfully get email, send email, manage calenders, etc.

But for the life of me, I cannot see where the push option is enabled, or if it is even possible? In mail.app settings, under 'check for new messages', there is no 'as mail arrives' option, the minimum i can set is one minute.

Does mail.app support exchange push for 2007, or at all?

Thanks!

I don't believe it's possible - I think the best you can do is set the timer to look for mail every one minute as you've done already.
So if one minute isn't fast enough then just hit the manual refresh button. ;)

Thanks for the reply.

Right now, i have set the refresh period to one minute, which is doing the job, but it seems a little odd that push isn't included as default?

I've also seen that if you set the account to IMAP and the server returns the IDLE command in its capabilities, then it is possible to get push email when you set the refresh period to manual.

Yeah, it seems from the interwebs (I don't want to bother resetting my account at the moment so I haven't verified it) that if it is set up as IMAP adn through the IDLE commands you can set up push.

I guess it's worth a try if it's that important to you. :)

Yeah, it's a shame the default mail.app does not support PUSH/IDLE for Exchange accounts, while it works flawlessly on iOS 4.

@seymansey: Have you tried setting up the IMAP account? Does it integrates well with corporate emails and calendar events?
