I second that. I love British accents. Living in Seattle and all, I don't hear it often. :(
EDIT: Yeah, British members should just post recordings of random talking, or maybe reading something. Now that'd be cool. :)

I had a boss one time who had a British friend come in and do the message for the answering machine for the office....
I imagine that there won't be many Brits saying an American accent makes them giddy, though :D

Well, I just finished my "blood boiling" post, so now I'll try to switch gears and think about whatever good there remains in the world... Shan't be easy, but there are a few things....
1. Campfires. And camping in general.
2. Mountains.
3. My handsome gray cat.
4. Road trips.
5. Sitting down to a good dinner with a nice bottle of red vino.
6. Getting in bed at night and reading a book I've been waiting to read all day.
7. When the weather finally gets warm enough to wear sandals (around late May here in Michigan!)
8. Back to the camping theme, coming off a long backpack and having that first cold drink and good feast.

Good Sex and Getting a New CDNo, it's me. Alcohol makes it easier for me to say what I really want to say... I'm pretty much under control most of the time. :)
A lot of people around here who know me ask me all the time, "What do you want from life?" I've achieved most of the material goals I could reasonably expect to achieve, given what I've accomplished so far in life. All I really want right now is to find someone to settle down with... I keep hoping to find that person. Get married, have a child or two, grow old together. Sounds simple, but it really isn't.

Smell of damp earth after a thunderstorm
Smell of cut grass too
Walking along a pebble beach on a somewhat stormy day watching the waves roll in.
Watching it snow heavily at Christmas (it doesn't do it enough in the UK that it's commonplace)
The glorious glossiness of a fresh horse chestnut conker as it peeks out of its shell. Within minutes, it dulls down to blandness.
Hugging my Mum
Sharing/teaching something I love or enjoy with someone else.
EDIT: Yeah, British members should just post recordings of random talking, or maybe reading something. Now that'd be cool. :)
Tee hee! Perhaps once we all get our iSights and Tiger working, we can all try multiway chatting and you'd get to hear us. ;) I wonder what you mean by a British accent though. It would be interesting to see if your favourites matched the ones that the UK public generally vote as being most trustworthy, most pleasant, least pleasant which are often based on prejudices.

Making a perfect approach and landing in god awful weather.
realizing a mistake in the checkbook that is in my favor!
Watching my wife sing.
falling asleep with my family, when we are one big pile on our bed.
Watching the grass I planted (major yard overhaul) actually come up.
Having my team win the championship. Go Tarheels.
Watching anyone who deserves it get recognition (said before but very true).
Random hugs and kisses from and to my daughters.
Finding out I don't owe MORE taxes.
A million other very little tiny insignificant things that are so cool.

Apparently we like Sean Connery's soft Scottish (read Edinburgh) accent most along with Irish brogues and 'standard BBC English' but we don't like Glaswegian, Welsh, Birmingham or Liverpool ones much.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4180373.stm
You can go to this BBC research project (http://www.bbc.co.uk/voices/) to listen to a few of them if you're not sure what you're used to hearing. Most of those put on in US sitcoms/movies etc are appalling although Johnny Depp's in Finding Neverland was pretty impressively Scottish.

I like helping people and I especially like surprising them with a favor or gift. I plan elaborate ways to give people gifts and I enjoy it as much as they do. It's not always for family members, but here is one example where it was. One of my next projects is putting together a fancy lemonade stand for the kids across the street who sell homemade lemonade every summer. It'll be a surprise and they will get a big thrill from having something better than a card table.
I also love being a dad, my Mac hobby, and of course geeky math projects, as you know from my various threads around here. I know that anybody who smiles about math homework needs to find a cure before its too late, but until I do I'll go on being happy.

I really like the accents of the people that say "bloke" a lot. There seems to be a common accent of the people that use that word in the UK.

-hanging out with friends, laughing like hell
-talking a walk through busy downtown, especially on a warm breezy day, the commotion and noise actually makes me feel calmer usually
-laying down in an old, quiet cemetery and staring into the sky
-reading random crap on the net (case in point...)
-sparking one
-turning off all the tvs in the house, when no one is here, and having silence
-getting my cat to calm down enough to be petted (he likes to tapdance uncontrollably when you get near him)
-singing along to a great song in the car, over and over, getting louder and louder, until people in the next car probably think i'm having a fit
this thread is so much nicer than the other one, i can't think about blood-boiling crap without getting hot under the collar :)

The feeling of sand running through my fingers,
The smell of rain in summer,
Buying things I know I will enjoy,
Learning something new,
Seeing someone I have given advice to actually follow it (My sis just got a Powerbook for example from my recommendations),
Lying in bed and waking up feeling the sun shine through the window onto me.
Getting in a bed with freshly washed and outdoor dried bedsheets which smell nice and feel all cool.
