In the 11" 2011 MBA, does the allocated video ram make much difference?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 4GB model allocates more video RAM than the 2GB model. Does it make any/much difference? I connect to an external 24" monitor that runs at 1920 x 1080 if it matters in that regard. Thanks!
