For the heck of it last night I loaded up Lion as a virtual machine on my iMac running 10.6.7. It loaded fine and even updated to 10.7.1 with no problems. The only "issue" I'm having is it's using a display resolution of 1024 x 768 and I can't find any display settings within Fusion or Lion to be able to make it larger (my monitor resolution is 1920 x 1200 - so I'd like a bigger "guest" window).

If I grab a corner of the window and drag it, it gets larger, but just starts pixelating the contents since the Lion guest is still only running at 1024 x 768.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Did you install the guest tools? That should allow you to resize the window so that the VM fills it at a 1:1 pixel ratio.

Otherwise you can force a set resolution like this:

In Terminal do:
Code:
nano /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist

then add:
Code:
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1920x1080x32@60</string>

then press ctrl-x, enter. Then reboot.

I did not install VMware tools....now I'm trying, but it keeps telling me the guest OS has the CD/DVD connected, even though I disconnected it and there's nothing in the physical drive. Some more Googling is in order I guess.
