I guess my new Macbook Air shouldn't do this?

Brand new out of the box 11" MBA

Fan runs loudly and constantly under the Q, W, 1 and 2 buttons. When I press down firmly on the 1 and 2 keys it slows and stops the fan, as if you were putting your hand on a vinyl record whilst it is playing! iStatPro shows the fan slowing when I press the 1 and 2 key.

Guess it is faulty hardware?

It's new but have transferred everything from my old mac via migration assistant. It's defo the fan and hitting the 1 & 2 keys shouldn't slow it down.

When I tilt the unit it stops too. I think it must have been fitted incorrectly. Have genius bar appt on Sat.
