Should ratings sync to iTunes?

Just got my itunes migrated to new Mac Mini but my ratings did not make it over.

Just went thru a big block of songs on my iPad and rated them so I can setup some Best of playlists. When I synced it to iTunes, I assumed those would come over on the sync, but I am not getting any ratings on the Mini. Is there some setting or way to get these over. Took about an hour to get to this point.

Any help is appreciated.
