Mail arriving later

Hello, I have the 2011 Macbook Air. I am using my Gmail account with the Mail application. I know I have new mail. (From gmail.com)

However, Mail application gets it a couple minutes later. I press the Get Mail button countless times. Still nothing... What might be the problem?
