I seem to have lost ' Recent Item '

In the Apple drop-down menu ( top left on menu bar ) - I used to have ' Recent Items ' - but now it's gone .

Also - in applications such as Text Edit and Preview - there is
' Recent Items ' line one the 'File' drop down menu. It is still listed, but doesn't
list any recently opened files.


Anyone know the cure for this?
